Slowing Down...

How would you characterize your Worship?

Reading Revelation 4 and 5 this week.  How do YOU worship the Creator? Why do you worship Him? Do you worship Him?????  I love Barry Applewhite's probing question for us as we looked at the Laodicean church: What is your life really about - are you just shuffling from one choice-enabled-by-money to the next? Read the question again; Are you just shuffling from one choice-enabled-by-money to the next? What do we really worship.  I confess I resemble the Laodicean church far more than I care to admit!  Worshiping Him takes time; void of distraction, of that thing, those things that so easily entangle and muddle our thoughts.  So this is for me (maybe for you) right now, right here: The words of Revelation Song by Kari Jobe.

Worthy is the, Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to him who sits on
Heaven's mercy seat
[2X]

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
to You the only wise King

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus your name is power
Breath, and living water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah...

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You
[3X]

Wonder

Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty....

Be prepared this week to worship Him..."Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder, at the mention of your name."  STOP! - rewind.  Awestruck Wonder!  What strikes awe in you about God, about His character, presence, creation?  Here's a thought; I had a teacher tell me once why she loved teaching Kindergartners.  "Have you have ever looked at a kindergartner's knuckles?" she asked me.  A 5 yr old enters kindergarten with a bunch of fatty tissue surrounding their knuckles and leaves the year with fully defined knuckles - WONDER! His wonder envelopes us - do you see it regularly or rarely?  As you serve his "creations" this weekend - the children loaned to us on Sunday morning - worship God by giving yourself fully to them and thus to Him.  One way to do this is to be prepared. I encourage you to read your lesson in advance.  Let the truth of the scripture wash over you this week so the Spirit can maximize the time in and thru you in the presence of our children on Sunday mornings - I pray our children see Christ in you in unmistakable ways that draws them inexplicably to our Father.
